Jake Harris is a Massachusetts native, having grown up in Cambridge and attended Shul in Brookline. He came to the pursuit of the cantorate after obtaining a degree in voice from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, where he also studied theory, orchestration, and composition. Jake’s music has been performed around Boston as well as on WBUR, Boston’s NPR news station. He is the great-great-great-great nephew of the liturgical composer Louis Lewandowski. Jake hopes to follow in his ancestor’s footsteps and contribute new melodies to the prayer service, as well as use music as a means for bringing people together. In addition to singing, Jake is an avid pianist, guitarist, and chef. He has had service-leading engagements around Massachusetts, including at NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham, a Hebrew SeniorLife facility. Jake is ecstatic to share his love of music and meaningful prayer practice with the TBI community.
